CheekyMac Productions is a boutique production house, founded by Singer, Songwriter Chico Johnson & Writer, Director, Producer Danielle McAlpine Johnson in 2008.

Our core mission is to use the performing arts and entertainment industry to highlight issues of injustice and share stories of the human heart to impact humanity.

With over 20 years of industry experience, both in front of and behind the camera, the team at CheekyMac Productions has developed a unique set of production skills to find the heartbeat of every story.

With a strength in emotive content, and through a lens of hope, our team immerse themselves in every production to create thought provoking content as a catalyst for change. Whether it’s for commercial purposes, educational or entertainment, our team finds the unique heart beat and soul of every good story.

From concept through to creation and completion, CheekyMac Productions brings together a passionate group of directors, producers, film makers, editors, artists and musicians - all with their own passion for storytelling to ensure the highest level of documentary, TV, radio, and music video production.

Danielle McAlpine Johnson

Dan is a fireball of passion and creativity!

With over two decades of industry experience, Danielle has an innate ability to connect with people and draw out the unique heartbeat of every story.

Having written, produced and directed an extensive amount of national TVCs, music videos, shorts, series and docos, Danielle is deeply passionate about telling stories that matter. Combining a warm & quirky personality with a solid understanding of production, Danielle thrives on purpose driven creativity, with a core focus on creativing thought-provoking content as a catalyst for change.

Jason Chico Johnson

CO-FOUNDER | MUSIC PRODUCER

Cheeks is the backbone of CheekyMac!

Born and raised in the Bahamas, Chico relocated to America where he spent a considerable amount of time learning the art of music, venturing into writing radio and tv jingles for a number of national and international campaigns.

Proficient in most genres, having written everything from swing, pop and country to his roots of RnB, reggae, hip hop and rap - Chico takes influences from all genres, to create his own unique style and sound.

Alice is our Set Mumma!

Beginning her career on an independent feature film in America, Alice was hired because she was a brilliant life support and Nanny to the executive producer! (Sounds like a movie in its self right!)

Two decades and four kids later, Alice has worked on top Australian television drama series, reality and game shows as assistant director, assistant floor manger and coordinator.

Her ability to work with a variety of personalities, attending to their needs, Alice has an incredible ability to think quickly on her feet. Keeper of our 'problem solver award' Alice can anticipate what steps are needed to keep projects and schedules running smoothly. We love our Mumma.
