A fireball of passion, Danielle is a woman who doesn’t shy away from being radical in the name of LOVE. With a quirky sense of humour Danielle is a Mumma to 3 and ANCHOR to the women of Behind The Sash.

Becky Branca is one hot fashionista but don’t let her keen sense of style and make up fool you! Hostess with absolute mostess, Becky lives half her life in the sky and is a pillar of strength for her son with special needs. By day, a Supermodel and Marketing Manager, and by night, Founder of not-for-profit organisation Wall of Jasper. A proud mum and wife, Jyselle Des Forges is grounded and intentional. She’s passionate about the runway and coaching women to own who they are! Jyselle is the SAFE PLACE for the women of Behind The Sash, living in her own beautiful bubble… an interesting contrast in the pageant arena.

Episode 01
FIRST PEOPLE
Set in the stunning Kimberly, Western Australia the ladies head to Beagle Bay to shine a light on the devastating rate of youth suicide amongst First Nation People, whilst exploring the beauty of Indigenous culture with Tasha McAlpine.
TASH MCALPINE
Born and raised in Beagle Bay on the Dampier Peninsula, Tasha is a proud mother and wife with a bachelor in Early Education who believes that every child deserves the education they need to succeed in life from an early age.
Tasha is a true role model within her community, passionate about taking a stand against the issue of youth suicide within Indigenous communities in the Kimberly. Along with her husband and through her art, Tasha hopes to one day open a Trauma Clinic for Youth to escape and reconnect with the land and their roots in Beagle Bay.
BEAGLE BAY COMMUNITY SUPPORT

BLIND BUT NOW I SEE
Our ladies travel with Lucy Holmes to remote Nepal with not-for-profit organisation CBM to witness the life changing operation of a four year old boy called Buzz. He was born with bilateral cataracts and after traveling eight hours across the Indian border the ladies and his parents witness a miracle as they watch him see for the very first time.

Meet the glamorous ‘89.9 The Light’ Breakfast radio host Lucy Holmes! A proud mother to a beautiful daughter, Lucy is a born performer who travels the world with her 100% Kylie act, the Melbourne Gospel Choir and is the key ambassador for Christian Blind Mission (CBM), the world’s largest not-for-profit organisation dedicated to disabilities and poverty.
Lucy often travels on mission trips with CBM and sacrifices frequently to spread the word of hope about the life changing miracle surgeries provided by CBM.

Set on the streets of Melbourne, Australia we explore the devastating issue of people experiencing homelessness within one of the most liveable cities in the world! After spending a night sleeping it rough, the ladies come together with The National Homeless Collective and the inspiring Lucia Hou to give a young lady who escaped homelessness a fabulous makeover, before a rooftop charity event.

Mother of two incredible children, and Woman Of The Year 2018, Lucia Hou is the proud ambassador for National Homeless Collective, working on projects such as; Sleeping Bags for Homelessness, Melbourne Period Project, The Plate Up Project, The School Project, Kala Thrift Shop.
Owner of a building and maintenance company, as well as photography and media management business, Lucia is passionate about shifting the mindset of society with people sleeping it rough. Alongside Donna from National Homelessness Collective, Lucia has spent tireless hours supporting many people experiencing homelessness, and continues to spread awareness through her media platforms.

National Homeless Collective is a grassroots Australian charity that creates solutions to complex issues arising from homelessness, domestic violence, and social disadvantage.

LIFE’S A BEACH
Highlighting environmental organisation Eco Barge, the ladies travel to far North Queensland to meet Libby Edge, a powerhouse Aussie babe cleaning up the Great Barrier Reef in the Whitsunday region. The ladies explore the island, whilst removing marine debris to reduce the impact on this majestic natural wonder of the world.

Libby is dedicated to protecting and preserving marine environments for future generations. She established Eco Barge Clean Seas Inc. after realizing the devastating effects that marine debris was having on the local marine life.

Eco Barge Clean Seas Inc. was established in Airlie Beach to engage the community to protect the precious marine life and aquatic environment of the Whitsunday Region.
Episode 05
OPTIMISTIC COLOUR
We follow the ladies and Filipino Melbournian Kaye Anastacio to the Philippines where not-for-profit organisation Gawad Kalinga remove entire communities from the slums of Manila into safe housing. The ladies get their hands dirty during a house build and explore the horrific truth of mothers living in makeshift homes built on a garbage dump.
KAYE ANASTACIO
Kaye Anastacio grew up in the Philippines, and is now living in Melbourne, Australia. Working as a registered nurse, Kaye has a huge heart for her Filipino people and is fighting to see poverty alleviated within the Philippine slums.
GAWAD KALINGA
Gawad Kalinga is a Philippine poverty alleviation and nation-building movement known officially as the Gawad Kalinga Community Development Foundation. It’s mission is to end poverty for 5 million families by 2024.

BOOK OF LIFE
Our ladies tap into their country roots when they head to Gippsland to meet dairy farmer Sallie Jones and discuss the rapid decline of mental health in the agricultural industry. Whilst the ladies try their hand at milking and explore country life, they uncover some devastating stories within some of the local families.

Co-Founder of Gippsland Jersey, Sallie Jones is a proud mother of 3, from Gippsland Victoria. With lived experience around the impacts of suicide, Sallie is on a mission to see change brought forth within the agricultural landscape around the area of mental health and well-being of her fellow dairy farmers.
BOOK OF LIFE
The Book Of Life is a joint collaboration between Behind The Sash & Gippslandia, as they create a Gippsland based quarterly newspaper. This book is a collection of recipes and stories from the farmers, families and residents of Gippsland. All profits from every book purchased are going back into supporting the Gippsland farming community.

TRUE BEAUTY
Shining the light on the YMCA Music Video Project, the ladies head down the coast to Rye to highlight the beauty of people living with a disability who they join to create a music video alongside the singing Queen, Mareshah Lawton and Chico Johnson.
MARESHAH LAWTON
Mareshah Lawton is a Melbourne based singer / songwriter passionate about using her gifts to speak truth in the area of freedom. Having been born with bilateral cataracts Mareshah knows all too well what it’s like to be judged whilst living with a disability and connects beautifully with the clients of the YMCA Disability program.

To highlight the beauty in all humanity, no matter what peoples situations, Chico Johnson teamed up with Mareshah Lawton to film this beautiful song with our cast of Episode 7.
YMCA
The YMCA is an inclusive community where everyone can achieve their individual goals and develop new skills. Their friendly and welcoming staff are trained to understand support needs of clients and will work with them to build their skills and connect with community. The Macey Heights YMCA Disability program featured in Behind The Sash are looking to improve and advance their sensory room and garden and welcome donations for this venture.

BRAVE HEART
In this special episode we dig deeper into the four leading ladies' adversities as they visit Sydney golden girl Ally Pinnock at the healing arts school TACT. As the ladies sail the Sydney Harbour they learn of Ally’s own rise through adversity and ability to use creative arts to heal, before giving it their all at Tough Mudda!
ALLY PINNOCK
Ally is a Sydney based actress and presenter passionate about teaching women within the media, arts and entertainment industries to seek true healing through Art Therapy. Ally’s personal story of overcoming adversity after loosing her father to suicide and mother to a brain tumour in her late teens is both inspiring and courageous – and was the springboard for TACT.
THE ACADEMY OF CREATIVE TRANSFORMATION
TACT (The Academy Of Creative Transformation) was established in 2019 by Ally Pinnock and birthed out of personal adversity and personal healing. TACT brings 1:1 art theory, group workshops and corporate training to powerfully transform your world through art.
